So many of our fragrances are directly inspired by creator Ruta’s memories and through the skilled use of specific notes and pairings, she has been able to re-create some of her happiest and most memorable moments.
Sea Foam is linked to Ruta’s memories of the time she spent by the Baltic Sea. When she was younger, she and her friends would sail to the island of Gotland. Whenever she wears this fragrance she is transported back to the ocean, with the smell of salt, seaweed and driftwood on the beach. Wearing this fragrance is like diving straight into the sea, a revitalising and refreshing experience triggered by a single spray.
Encore Une Fois evokes the luscious South Pacific. Ruta spent several weeks travelling around French Polynesian, exploring the beautiful beaches, lagoons and lush forests, and discovering new flora and raw materials which inspired this scent. For her it evokes the wonderful feeling of falling in love, and memories of crystal blue water, endless beaches and salty, sun kissed skin.
Taking inspiration from horse riding on the white sandy beaches of Le Touquet or the refined atmosphere of the Royal Enclosure at Ascot, Signature Wild has a swagger that evokes all the senses and emotions, from the earthy scent of turf, to the sweat of a racehorse and the smell of leather. Dark and wild, this addictive fragrance combines a powerful leather essence with the syrupy davana herb and sweet delicacy of orange blossom. This almost gustatory scent experience offers rich drops of apricot brandy, sultry cinnamon and cardamom, and hints of leather. As wild and as dark as this one is, it wears as lightly as silk.
In Kimono Vert we are invited on a journey to Japan, seen through the lens of Ruta’s childhood. Her parents were academics who travelled widely when Ruta was a child and returned with rare gifts from Japan. Her mother had a beautiful and extremely valuable Kimono which Ruta was not allowed to wear it. She longed for a Kimono of her own and as an adult, on a trip to Japan she was able to fulfill her dream and purchase one for herself. The fragrance connects her to both these powerful memories of childhood and to her present. For Ruta this fragrance is the scented equivalent of wrapping oneself in a priceless silk kimono. This luxurious scent is bursting with freshness, florals, green tea and calming notes including eucalyptus and patchouli to help you find balance in your daily life.
