Hi. Most of you know me, but to my new followers, I wanted to speak to you all directly and share some personal news.
On the 19th of April 2024, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer, and it was the first day of the rest of my life.
After the news settled, I soon decided that I could either be crippled by fear, or, as has happened throughout my whole life, use adversity to motivate me and to drive me forwards.
Someone once said ’you can´t direct the wind, but you can adjust the sails’ and that’s precisely what I’m focused on now.
To be more intentional with my time and forge a renewed positive refocus on myself, my life, the love that surrounds me, plus a new awareness of my body and what’s its actually capable of, and it’s incredible resilience… it can try to kill me and also save me all at the same time!
I’m one surgery down, with two to go. My prognosis is extremely good, I’m one of the very fortunate ones, others are not as lucky.
To all the women out there, please don’t neglect your health. Regular mammograms, scans, and blood work are vital acts of self-care.
