Encore Une Fois Review by 99bottledscents

There are fragrances that live in a world that cross from simple scents to experiences in bottles, pulling on our desire to remember rather than banking on a wish to smell great, Encore Une Fois translates to "yet again", does it manage to pull on your memories? Let's Deep Dive.

Encore opens up with a beautiful salty citrus, very oceany but less "beachy", aquatic without being blue, a tad pull of green comes from the violet and the leafy orange but make no mistake, this is about the salty tones and in that process opens up for a tad smoky, for a stronger orange vibe with a bit of sour bergamot, the petitgrain gives character with it's unique bitterness.
The composition is really well done and stays clear of just being linear or boring, it manages to take that ambergris and give it first violin while other supporting notes elevate it without disrupting. I'm in awe of it and really love it.
The drydown is musky and woody, playing on the initial composition while adding a backbone. It truy reminds me of being in the middle of the ocean and just sitting there on a boat, enjoying the salty winds and relaxing, the salt on my wife's skin as well, it has that sexyness to it.
Conclusion: If you like that salty oceany DNA, this should be tried, it's a beauty, however, be aware this is not beast mode and it stays close to skin.. like a memory, this is personal.
Encore Une Fois, meaning โ€œyet againโ€, speaks to the way we are helplessly drawn, over and over, to the siren call of nature.
