Black Tea & The Story of How Excentrique Moi Came to Be

I thought I’d talk today about one of my favourite raw materials in perfumery, and that is black tea. It features heavily in one of the Art de Parfum fragrances, namely Excentrique Moi, which mixes a smoky, tannic black tea with red berries, hibiscus, dried fruits, spices, and patchouli. Wearing black tea fragrances are so comforting and cozy, especially in chilly weather….of which we seem to have a lot in Britain. What is your favourite fragrance based on a drink or cocktail? And Competition!

Personally, I'm not much of a drinker - but I have always loved the scent of a good Gin & Tonic. Its aroma of bitter quinine and spicy juniper berry is indefinably British - and always spells summer to me. In fact, that's what inspired me to create Gin & Tonic Cologne. It's one of the most popular of the Art de Parfum line, especially in the UK, and it's easy to see why - with the tennis season fast approaching, people are starting to think of the pleasures of watching Wimbledon while quaffing an ice-cold G&T.
